Art and Clay on Main
Helping people with disabilities find their place in the community
Our mission is to bring about a vibrant community where people lead fulfilling lives and make meaningful contributions
Our Social Impact
We employ and train interns who have developmental disabilities for ten week periods to help develop skills to enable them to be employed in the community. Since 2014, twenty five (25) people have participated in the internship opportunity. 100% have developed new skills and 80% of interns are either employed in the community or actively seeking employment once they complete the internship. Additionally, 20% of Art & Clay’s permanent workforce is comprised of people with disabilities. Art & Clay on Main helps to show that a diverse workforce increases morale. Teams that include people with disabilities have higher productivity, longevity and lower absenteeism and turnover.
More than 57,000 people visited Art & Clay last year. Through our work in Downtown Lancaster, we have been part of brining about a vibrant community through the Downtown Renaissance that is occurring.
